Relics of St Therese of Lisieux

The relics of St Therese (The Little Flower) will be visiting England and Wales in September and October of this year, including a visit to our Cathedral in Nottingham on 5-6 October.

Many people will no doubt ask, ‘Why St Therese? Why relics?’  Hopefully the coming months will provide an opportunity to learn more about Saint Therese, her life and mission, and also something about the veneration of relics in general.

Similar events have taken place in recent years in Ireland, USA, and many other countries, and have been spiritually fruitful in terms of bringing people back to the practice of the faith and introducing people to the Gospel for the first time. We can pray that the visit here will be similarly fruitful.

Further details can be found on the following websites - www.catholicrelics.co.uk and www.thereseoflisieux.org

June Novena – The Immaculate Heart of Mary

The Legion of Mary group has prepared leaflets for you to take home and pray this Novena between 11 & 19 June.  They are available at the back of church, so please take one away with you.

Year of the Priest

The students at Oscott have set up a new website and it can be viewed at www.yearofthepriest.blogspot.com - why not take a look!

Next Sunday Neil Peoples will receive the ministry of Lector. As well as being a ministry in its own right, it is the first of three steps leading to, God willing, eventual ordination to the Diaconate and the Priesthood. We continue to pray for Neil at this time.

Thank You

To everyone involved in the preparation of our Confirmation candidates and also to those people who helped prepare the Mass or came along to support our young people.  Please continue to keep them in your prayers.
