Bishop Malcolm will be coming to St Peter’s to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday 4 June.  All parishioners are welcome to the Mass which will begin at 7pm.

  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will end at 6pm
  • Those Confirmation Candidates who are reading the first reading and bidding prayers are asked to be present at 6.30pm for a brief rehearsal.
  • All Candidates and their sponsors are asked to be seated by 6.40pm

Confirmation Photographs

A selection of photographs from the last couple of sessions are displayed on the noticeboard at the back of the church. We hope to include some of these photographs on our parish web-site. If anyone does not wish to have a photograph including themselves or their children to appear on the web-site please let Fr Eddy or Ian Goodrich know.

We have also been asked by Reach 4 if they can use photographs from the sessions on their web-site www.ndcys.com. If anyone has any objections to this again could they let Fr Eddy or Ian Goodrich know.

Rest in Peace

Your prayers are asked for two priests of our Diocese who have died in the past few days, Father Derl Daly and Father John Mack, both had been ill for some time.

Fr Derl had been a priest for 48 years including a year at St Peter’s between 1971 and 1972, his longest appointment was as Parish Priest of St Anne’s, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire between 1977 and 1995.

Fr John had been a priest for 46 years and was Parish Priest of St Hugh’s, Borrowash, near Derby for a long time. He was a lively contributor to debates and discussions at Diocesan level and I am sure many who have attended such meetings will remember his contributions to these gatherings.

May they both rest in peace.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

All ministers are asked to bring their scapulars with them to Mass on the weekend of 13/14 June (Feast of Corpus Christi), and during Mass they will be invited to renew their commitment to their ministry for another year.

Parish Pastoral Council

Thanks to David Casserley for his words last weekend. The next meeting is on Wednesday 10 June. If you wish to bring any matters to the attention of the PPC you can do so using the suggestions box  now available at the back of the church.

Thank You

To all who helped make the May Procession a success.
