18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Mother of God Newsletter

Mother of God are hoping to re-launch their own newsletter as of this weekend. We wish them well, but we will continue to keep in touch perhaps by making a few copies of their newsletter available at St Peter’s and also by sending a few copies of our newsletter up to Mother of God.

Masses in August

Father Wojtek has returned to Jerusalem to continue his studies. We hope that he will be able to be with us again next summer.

Fr David will be around in the parish during the month of August and he and Fr Eddy will be sharing the weekend and weekday Masses between them.

MOG Directory

With all the recent changes it is time to revise the Mother of God parish directory and your help is needed! Previous editions have been put together by a small team, but with the extra work involved this year we would like to increase our numbers so that we can try and be a comprehensive guide to all the life within our parish for new and old parishioners alike. If you are interested in being part of the team, please get in touch with Stephen Gray, Margaret Bobs, or Teresa Knott, or e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

St Peter’s Flower Festival

This is planned for the weekend of 13-14 September to commemorate thirty years of the opening of the present St Peter’s Church. Volunteers are required to help with arranging flowers. This is open to both men and women, and you don’t need to be an expert, keen amateurs are more than welcome. Volunteers are also required to greet visitors and to prepare and serve refreshments.

A coffee morning was held in May to raise some funds, but if anyone would like to donate towards one of the displays in memory of a loved one, this can be arranged and a card to this effect will be placed on the display.

For further details please contact Eileen Perkins (233 0498) or Bernadette Fenn (299 3911).

Menphys Sponsored Walk

Congratulations to all our parishioners who took part, on regaining the Silver Cup!

St Peter’s AGM

A copy of the Minutes is displayed on the notice-board.

Typewriter

We have an electronic typewriter in the presbytery, which is looking for a new home. If anyone would like it, please contact Claire in the parish office (See contact page).

If you haven’t yet collected an application form they are available from the back of both churches or by phoning 01788 564646. If you would like to sponsor Gerry Ennis, please sign the sponsor form in the church porch.
