It is once more the time of year when the new Planned Giving envelopes are available from the back of the Church.  This gives me an opportunity to thank all those who have contributed so generously to our parish during the past year, and to encourage all parishioners to support our parish and the mission of the Church in whatever way they feel they can.

Using ‘Planned Giving’ envelopes helps you to organise your giving in whatever way is most convenient to you.  Many people prefer to give weekly, others choose to give monthly; although most give cash a few prefer to write a cheque.  The choice is yours.

Another option is to give by Standing Order and there are advantages to the Parish with this method as it means less work for our counters and also lower charges from our bank for handling cash.  Do give the matter some thought.  Incidentally, if you notice that someone doesn’t put money into the collection basket as it comes round, remember that they may well be giving to the parish by Standing Order.

If you choose to give either by envelope or by Standing Order and you are a tax payer then you can ‘Gift Aid’ your giving.  This means that the parish can claim back from the Inland Revenue the tax that you have paid on the money you have given at absolutely no cost to yourself.

Existing box holders can pick up their new boxes from Ned Connell at the back of the Church, and Ned also has boxes for new members as well as Standing Order forms and Gift Aid forms.  There is also a label at the back of the box confirming your current Gift Aid status.  I sometimes wonder if there are people who think they have signed a Gift Aid Declaration but have not actually done so, if the label states that we do not have a current Gift Aid Declaration for you and you do pay tax then do please consider signing one.

Finally, I would like to once more acknowledge your generosity in these economically challenging times, and a particular word of thanks to all who help administer the Planned Giving and Gift Aid, and also to those who count and bank the collection every week.

Father Eddy Jarosz

Thank You

To all who supported our Parish Bazaar last Saturday. We raised a total of over £2,500.  The Bazaar is our major fundraising event of the year and the money raised helps towards the cost of running the parish throughout the year.

Also, to all who attended the Station Mass on Wednesday evening. It was good to welcome many priests and parishioners from across our Deanery. Even though the numbers attending are not as large as in years gone by, it is still a Lenten tradition worth keeping alive.

London Marathon for LOROS

Fr David would be delighted if you would consider sponsoring him for this epic and death defying journey and you can do so by going to www.justgiving.com/david-cain or sponsor forms at the back of church.
