    Diaconate Ordinations

    On Saturday 6 March the eight men who received Candidacy here at St Peter’s before Christmas will be Ordained to the Diaconate.  Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they accept this role of ministerial leadership in our Diocese.

    Lent 2010 – Christian Aid Hunger Lunches

    Each Monday in Lent at St Anne’s Vicarage, 79 Letchworth Road.  Each lunch will be a glass of water, bowl of soup and a piece of bread.  Donations requested towards the Haiti Appeal via Christian Aid.  Everyone is welcome.

    Lent 2010 - “Death of the Messiah”

    Each Thursday evening throughout Lent.  Tea and Coffee will be available from 7.00pm and the talks will start at 7.30pm. The evenings will finish at 9.00pm.

    Each evening will be jointly led between Fr Eddy and Rev Chris Oxley of St Anne’s and will include reflections, time for questions and simple devotions.


    Next meeting Wednesday 3 March after the 10.00am Mass.

    Deanery Station Mass

    Wednesday 3 March here at St Peter’s beginning with the opportunity for Confession at 6.30pm.  Mass will start at 7.00pm.

    This year is the 50th year of ‘Family Fast Day’ and our Station Mass is our opportunity to mark this anniversary and to commit ourselves to ‘prayer, fasting, and almsgiving’ for the remainder of this Lenten season.

    Women’s World Day of Prayer

    Friday 5 March at St Andrew’s Church Glenfield Road at 2.00pm followed by refreshments. This is an annual, interdenominational event, with representatives from local churches (including St Peter`s) taking part in the Readings. Everyone is welcome to come along - men, women and young people.

    HCPT Group 215 Disco

    Friday 5 March at St Patrick’s Beaumont Leys Lane.   Leicester Group 215 would like to invite you to a night of fundraising and fun in preparation for our trip this coming Easter. Tickets – Child £1, Adult £2, Family £5 available by contacting Madeleine Kenny on Tel 225 8745.

    Fairtrade Cooking Afternoon

    Saturday 6 March at 3.00pm with afternoon tea at 5.00pm to mark Fairtrade Fortnight. Children aged 11 years and below invited - please bring a parent if you're under 8 years.

    Sandwich Making for the Homeless Group

    Will meet Saturday 6 March at 5.00pm.  Anyone in Year 8 and above welcome to come and help – new volunteers always welcome!

    Saturday 20 March 10.30am-12.45pm at St Barnabas Cathedral Nottingham.  No charge.  Music & refreshments provided – more details on the notice-board.
