Our Youth Group is a joint initiative between the parishes of St Peter's Catholic Church and St Anne's Anglican Church.  The group is aimed at those in Year 7 and above at school, with members welcome up to the age of 18 years old.

Our meetings take place at St Peter's Church Hall on Tuesdays and St Anne's Church Hall on Sundays, typically about once a month at each venue, so meetings are approximately once a fortnight overall; and involve games, exploring our faith (we will be starting to use Youth Alpha material from September) listening to music, free time to chill, food time - normally pizzas!, and we always finish off our evening with night prayer.

From September we are hoping to also have regular social events every month or so, where we'll go to local places to just chill out as a group!  Once or twice a year we also try to organise a weekend pilgrimage and days out a bit further afield - such as day trips to London and weekends at Ampleforth Abbey in Yorkshire where we will be going again this September (see details below).

Dates of meetings are advertised in St Peter's newsletter and can also be found on this webpage (on the right) or on the diary page. Having a Laugh at Ampleforth Abbey

New members are always welcome and you can ask Sarah, Angela, Chris or Ian for more info - someone's normally around at the weekend Masses at St Peter's; or ask Fr Chris at St Anne's at any of the weekday or weekend services.  We hope to see you at our next meeting!

Ampleforth Pilgrimage: We will be returning to Ampleforth over the weekend of 2-4 March 2012.  Further details for those attending will be given at our meeting on 26 February.  Trip to London

The aim of the retreat will be to help you reflect on your life as a Christian growing up in the 21st century - where is God in your life? What is he asking you? St Augustine said "God is closer to me than I am to myself." WOW!  Come and find out more in a spirit of fun and relaxation.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact Angela, Sarah, Chris or Ian for further info (Tel: 285 6998).  See photos from the 2009 pilgrimage here.  Also, a recording of the Abbey's Night Prayer can be found on YouTube: Part 1 & Part 2
