Wednesday Morning Masses

Mass 7.00am 

This early morning Mass gives workers and students the opportunity to get to Mass in the week during Lent.

It is our aim that a simple breakfast – tea, coffee, cereal, toast will be provided.

Envelopes are available for you to donate throughout Lent. Just put the envelope onto any weekend collection plate.

Singing Practices for the Sacred Triduum

A choir will be formed to provide music for the ceremonies of the Sacred Triduum (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday & Easter Vigil).  The choir will practice throughout Lent.

NOTE – NO PRACTICE NEXT THURSDAY 22 FEB

Spring Fayre Appeal
Sunday 4 March 12.30-2.30pm

Thank you to those who have already signed up to help on the stalls, there are still a few vacancies, thank you to everyone for committing to the raffle prizes.

A great start to the fayre which is ONLY a few weeks away.

We NOW need to have items to sell on the stalls, and would kindly ask for your help,  please bring in your donations for the stalls... Bottle Stall, Toiletries, Cosmetics, Good as New and Fancy Goods. 

The items need to be new or in very good condition. Please leave them at the back of the church.

There will be a cake stall, please show off your baking skills by bringing cakes the day before or on the day.

The Raffle - if we can sell all 400 books of raffle tickets, we would raise £1,000, if everyone could commit to sell/buy at least 2 books each we could easily achieve this between us. Obviously, please take more books if you can.

Finally, your support in attending the fayre is VITAL to its success, please come and enjoy each other's company over a cream tea or a hot snack and treat yourselves.

Columban Mission Appeal

This weekend we welcome Fr Denis Carter who will be making an appeal on behalf of the Society of St Columban for Foreign Missions.

Fr John will be away from the parish this week. What to do if you need a priest in an emergency: For an urgent home visit – Mother of God 0116 287 5232 or Blessed Sacrament 0116 285 8795. Or for a patient in one of the hospitals or LOROS, please speak with the ward staff or the hospital chaplaincy.  General enquiries can be made to the parish office. 

Pastoral Letter for Lent

The letter from Bishop Patrick was due to be read on the First Sunday of Lent. Due to the Mission Appeal it will now be read at all Masses on the Second Sunday of Lent.

Host Families

Needed for one or 2 weeks for a group of teenagers from Bethlehem who will be visiting Leicester with their teachers from 16 June - 1 July. The group will have a full programme on weekdays. Would suit families with one or more teenagers aged 12-17 years.

Saturday 17 March at 11.00am at St Patrick’s Beaumont Leys Lane LE4 2BD.  Celebrant Bishop Patrick.  Followed by refreshments and music in the parish centre. 

Chef & Spice Fundraising Evening

Looking ahead, please save this date in your diary – Tuesday 17 April at 7.00pm.  This annual event will raise funds for this year’s parish charities, so please keep it free and support these good causes.

The Bridge – Homelessness to Hope is an outreach to the lost and lonely of Leicester, to the homeless and to those who just have nowhere to go and no one to turn to.

The Laura Centre The Laura Centre

The Laura Centre offers specialist bereavement counselling to parents whose child has died and to children or young people who have been bereaved of a parent or significant person.

Saturday Scripture Seminar

Is now underway here at St Peter’s.  Places are strictly limited.  There may be further opportunities to join at the beginning of the summer or autumn terms, on 5 May or 29 September.  The Seminar meets on half of the Saturday mornings in the year 9.30-11.00am.  Enquiries a.pateman@talktalk.net
